Freelance Writing
Let Jackie convert your thoughts into clear, concise, and cohesive documents such as nonfiction books, magazine articles, brochures, training or instructional manuals, promotional pieces, annual reports, and newsletters.

Editing
You have written your book, manual, newsletter, promotional piece, report, speech, or brochure. The concept is good, but the form is still rough around the edges. Jackie will provide the editorial touch that transforms an average piece into one that shines with professional "snap." The same process applies to small projects as well as entire books.

There are two major types of editing: copyediting (also called line editing) and substantive editing.

Technical Writing
From her role as system administrator for DOS, PICK, Macintosh, and Windows platforms, as well as hands-on experience with the installation, setup, and training on numerous software programs, Jackie has developed a solid foundation to support her technical writing skills. A member of the Society for Technical Communication, she has been involved in a number of end-user documentation manuals--development, writing, and editing using Adobe® FrameMaker®, Word®, various screen capture programs, and Adobe® Acrobat®.

Procedural Writing
Working with you and your staff, Jackie translates procedures or abstract information into working documents that help your people work better. With her strong business acumen, she quickly understands and clearly communicates how your company operates.

Web Page Editing
Your company's Web site is your storefront in cyberspace. You not only want it to be visually appealing and correctly linked, you need your message to be clear, well written, and free of errors. Jackie will work with your Web site designer to ensure that the image you project on the Web is as professional as the one you give in person. With her own experience in Web page design, she is in a particularly good position to "talk the language" of the Internet.

Project Management
Project management is the consultant's term for managing editor. When you need someone to oversee a project from start to finish - or any part in between - Jackie is adept at coordinating the publication process. She understands each of the stages required in taking an idea or manuscript from concept through to completion. Her managing and negotiation skills enable her to work smoothly with individual vendors to produce a quality product within the required specifications.

Proofreading
Proofreading ensures that the current version of a text incorporates the changes marked on the preceding version. This is most beneficial just before the project goes to print and is a crucial step for publications with high visibility. An independent proofreader will spot embarrassing errors that are easily overlooked by even the best writers.
